Q99   Are policies  being put into place to reduce discrimination against women?

A99  Yes they are. The Equal Employment Opportunity Law for Men and Women was enacted in 1986, since when it has been revised twice, thereby strengthening the legislation. I 1999, the Basic Law on Joint Participation by Men and Women in Society was enacted, with a view to realizing equality between men and women so that they can enjoy and benefit from politics, economics, social participation and cultural activities, thereby creating

a  gender-equal society the members of which bear responsibility equally. This was put into practice through the Basic Plan for Gender Equality.
